Rangatira Tiki – Butcher’s Block, Pāua Detail
Bring a touch of Aotearoa’s artistry into your kitchen with this Tui Grove original Tiki Chopping Board, crafted from premium acacia hardwood.
Measuring 40 cm x 28 cm with a solid 4 cm thickness, it is as functional as it is beautiful. At its heart, a 6 cm Tiki design is inlaid with genuine New Zealand pāua shell, radiating vibrant hues of blue and green.
The Tiki, a cherished Māori motif, is often regarded as a symbol of protection, fertility, and ancestral connection — imbuing this board with cultural depth and meaning.
Made from durable yet gentle acacia wood, this board is designed with the chef in mind. While resilient enough for daily use, acacia is not overly hard, helping to protect your knives from dulling. Naturally rich in oils, it resists water and moisture, reducing the risk of warping, cracking, and bacterial growth. Whether used for preparation, as a serving board, or displayed as a centrepiece, this Tui Grove original blends heritage, craftsmanship, and practicality into a single, exceptional piece.
Please Note:
We recommend washing this product by hand in warm, soapy water and drying it immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking or placing in the dishwasher, as excess water and heat may damage the wood and pāua inlay.
Apply a coat of food-grade mineral oil or beeswax to the surface once or twice a year (or as needed) to nourish the wood and maintain its lustre.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and warping.
Avoid cutting directly on the pāua inlay to preserve its shine and prevent scratching.
